China firmly opposes unilateral sanctions that haven’t any foundation in worldwide regulation, a spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry mentioned on Friday.

Earlier, Japan imposed commerce restrictions on China-based corporations as a part of a recent spherical of sanctions in opposition to people and teams thought to be supporting Russia’s battle on Ukraine, its Foreign Ministry mentioned in a press release.

“It is China’s legitimate right to engage in normal economic and trade cooperation with Russia on the basis of equality and mutual benefit,” mentioned Lin Jian when addressing a question at a daily press briefing.
