Iran known as upon the Group of Seven (G7) on June 16 to distance itself from “destructive policies of the past”, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani stated, referring to a G7 assertion condemning Iran’s current nuclear programme escalation.

On June 14, the G7 warned Iran in opposition to advancing its nuclear enrichment programme and stated they might be able to implement new measures if Tehran have been to switch ballistic missiles to Russia.

“Any attempt to link the war in Ukraine to the bilateral cooperation between Iran and Russia is an act with only biased political goals,” Mr. Kanaani stated, including that some international locations are “resorting to false claims to continue sanctions” in opposition to Iran.

Last week, the U.N. nuclear watchdog’s 35-nation Board of Governors handed a decision calling on Iran to step up cooperation with the watchdog and reverse its current barring of inspectors.

Iran responded by quickly putting in additional uranium-enriching centrifuges at its Fordow website and begun organising others, in response to a International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report.

Mr. Kanaani added Tehran would proceed its “constructive interaction and technical cooperation” with the IAEA, however known as its decision “politically biased.”

Iran is now enriching uranium to as much as 60% purity, near the 90% of weapons grade, and has sufficient materials enriched to that stage, if enriched additional, for 3 nuclear weapons, in response to an IAEA yardstick.
