In separate strongly-worded posts on X (previously Twitter), the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Cabinet Ministers have described any potential U.S. resolution to impose sanctions on a unit of the Israel Defense Forces because the “height of absurdity”.

American media late on April 20 reported the U.S. State Department could announce sanctions on the Netzah Yehuda battalion of the Israel Defence Forces within the coming days, primarily based on allegations of human rights violations within the West Bank.
