Even throughout the second world battle, assaults on diplomatic missions have been exceptional. According to the The 1961 Vienna Convention, embassy and consular premises must be protected even in occasions of battle. But on April 1, Monday, an annex of Iran’s embassy in Damascus, the Syrian capital, got here below air strikes.

The latest spell of the disaster started on October 7, when Hamas, the Palestinian Islamist group that has Iran’s backing, carried out a cross-border assault in Israel, killing at no less than 1,200 folks. Since then, Israel has carried out dozens of air strikes in Syria and Lebanon, in addition to its full-throttled invasion of the Strip, hitting Iranian, Syrian and Hezbollah targets.
