Jailed Kremlin critic Navalny put in solitary confinement in Arctic jail

Jailed Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny has been positioned in solitary confinement for 10 days in a jail above the Arctic circle for “incorrectly introducing himself” to a guard, his spokesperson stated late on January 22.

Navalny (47) a former lawyer who rose to prominence greater than a decade in the past by lampooning President Vladimir Putin’s elite and voicing allegations of huge corruption, is at the moment in a jail about 60 km (40 miles) north of the Arctic Circle.

Kira Yarmysh, his spokesperson stated on X late on Monday that it was the twenty fifth time Navalny had been positioned in solitary confinement and that he had spent 283 days in such circumstances.
