“The supplies of the S-400 air defence system to India have started and are proceeding on schedule,” he mentioned.

In October 2018, India had signed a $5 billion take care of Russia to purchase 5 items of the S-400 air defence missile programs, regardless of a warning from the Trump administration that going forward with the contract might invite U.S. sanctions.

India made the primary tranche of fee of round $800 million to Russia for the missile programs in 2019.

The S-400 is called Russia’s most superior long-range surface-to-air missile defence system.

Following U.S. sanctions on Turkey over the procurement of S-400 missile programs, there have been apprehensions that Washington might impose related punitive measures on India.
