Explosions have been heard in Jerusalem after air raid sirens sounded.

The sirens got here on Monday, shortly after the Hamas militant group in Gaza had set a deadline for Israel to take away its safety forces from the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound.

Abu Obeida, spokesman for Hamas’ army wing, stated the rocket assault was a response to what he known as Israeli “crimes and aggression” in Jerusalem. “This is a message the enemy has to understand well,” he stated.

He threatened extra assaults if Israel once more invades the Al-Aqsa compound or carries out evictions of Palestinian households in a neighborhood of east Jerusalem.

The sounds of outgoing rocket fireplace had been heard in Gaza shortly earlier than the sirens went off. Later, a brand new barrage of rockets was heard.

There had been no instant experiences of accidents or injury.
