China says it should ‘work with Pakistan’ for regional peace


China expressed happiness on the ‘energetic interactions’ between India and Pakistan.

China on Monday stated it was “happy about the active interactions” between India and Pakistan and would “like to work with Pakistan to inject more energy” into selling regional peace in South Asia. The feedback from Beijing got here in response to Pakistan President Arif Alvi final week describing China because the nation’s “closest” good friend, and within the wake of current developments on the India-Pakistan entrance following the ceasefire settlement.

“China values the all-weather strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian said. “We would like to take the opportunity of the 70th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic ties to work with Pakistan to fight the coronavirus, carry forward our traditional friendship to expand our all-dimensional cooperation, and build a closer China-Pakistan community of shared future in a new era.”

Mr. Zhao said that “President Alvi famous in his speech that Pakistan will deal with improvement and peaceable coexistence with different international locations, and urged the world, particularly South Asian international locations and their leaders, to desert hatred, bias and spiritual extremism to collectively safeguard regional peace and stability”.


China, he stated, “supports Pakistan in pursuing peaceful diplomatic policies and we support the peace and reconciliation process of Afghanistan.” “We are blissful concerning the energetic interactions between Pakistan and India,” he stated. “We would like to work with Pakistan to inject more positive energy into regional peace and stability as well as development.”

In a telephone call last week, Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi sought continued Chinese support in supplying vaccines for Pakistan. His counterpart Wang Yi said China would “proceed to prioritise China’s vaccine help and export” for the nation.

“The friendship between China and Pakistan has stood the test of time, and the two countries carry forward the good tradition of helping each other in times of difficulty,” Mr. Wang stated, including that “to demonstrate the ironclad friendship between the two countries, China has decided to provide Pakistan with another batch of vaccines.”
